GOZHENKO ANATOLY IVANOVICH
Gozhenko Anatoly Ivanovich was born on February 13, 1948 in Starobelsk, Luhansk region. In 1972 he graduated from the Chernivtsi Medical Institute (Bukovina State Medical University) with a degree in medicine. Doctor of Medical Sciences (1988), Professor (1992), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Academician (1998).
A. I. Gozhenko is one of the leading scientists in the field of clinical pathological physiology and the founder of the Ukrainian school of clinical pathophysiology and renal pathophysiology. In 2016, he was elected President of the Scientific Society of Pathophysiologists of Ukraine.
Multifaceted scientific activity Gozhenko A.I. has a pronounced fundamental character and is aimed at elucidating the mechanisms of disease occurrence and developing effective methods of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation based on the principles of evidence-based medicine.
Far from the complete list of new, experimentally and clinically proven theoretical propositions proposed by A.I. Gozhenko. relate:
- in the field of physiology - the theory of preventive regulation of water-salt metabolism;
- in the field of pathophysiology - the role of clinical pathophysiology in determining the etiology of occupational diseases has been proven, a new paradigm of the disease has been formulated;
- in the field of kidney pathophysiology - for the first time the patterns of development of pathological processes in the kidneys were formulated;
- in the field of toxicology - it was found that in the mechanism of the primary toxic effect of heavy metals on the kidneys, damage to the proximal nephron with inhibition of energy metabolism prevails; substantiated the therapeutic efficacy of antioxidants, energy protectors and nitric oxide donors in the treatment of nephropathies;
- in the field of epidemiology - took part in the substantiation of the protease-inhibitory theory of influenza pathogenesis.
Based on the analysis of literature data and his own research on clinical pathophysiology, he developed an innovative general theory of the disease, which substantiates the modern paradigm of the disease as the self-development of pathology and a way to achieve adaptation of the body in conditions of damage, therefore, the disease is the only possible form of adaptation of the damaged organism to the environment, which is evolutionarily formed and genetically fixed.
Practical implementation of the theoretical developments of A.I. Gozhenko was implemented in 18 guidelines and 72 copyright certificates and patents. He is a co-author of 2 devices approved for industrial production in Ukraine - "Thermodyne" for remote measurement of body temperature and a device for hemodialysis, co-author of GSTU 7525: 2014 "Drinking water. Requirements and methods of quality control ".
A. I. Gozhenko published about 1500 scientific works, including 50 monographs, 6 textbooks, 4 study guides, 2 methodological guides. He created the international scientific school "Pathophysiology of water-salt metabolism and kidney function", which numbers 66 highly qualified scientists from Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Canada, USA, India. Under his scientific guidance and consulting, 28 doctors and 57 candidates of sciences were trained. A. I. Gozhenko is a member of the Expert Council of the DAK MES of Ukraine on preventive medicine, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences; editor-in-chief of the journals "Actual problems of transport medicine", "Bulletin of Marine Medicine", "Water: Hygiene and Ecology", "Journal of Education, Health and Sport" (Poland), a member of the editorial boards of 7 more domestic and 2 foreign journals.
His creative achievements were deservedly appreciated by the scientific community - he was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor" of several domestic and foreign universities, awarded the badge "Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the badge "Distinction of the Odessa Regional Council", memorable medals named after V.V. Podvysotsky (Ukraine) and A.D. Speransky (Russian Federation).
1974-1980 - Assistant, Department of Pathophysiology, Chernivtsi Medical Institute;
1980-1989 - Head of the Department of Pathophysiology, Chernivtsi Medical Institute;
1989-1992 - Head of the Laboratory of the All-Union Research Institute of Water Transport Hygiene (State Enterprise Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine, Ministry of Health of Ukraine);
1992-1999 - Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Association "Medicine of Transport";
1999-2012 - Head of the Department of General and Clinical Pathological Physiology. V.V. Podvysotsky Odessa National Medical University. N.I. Pirogov;
since 2004 - Director of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine".
